چکیده

We prove existence of a solution for a polymer crystal growth model describing the movement of a front (Γ(t)) evolving with a nonlocal velocity. In this model the nonlocal velocity is linked to the solution of a heat equation with source δΓ. The proof relies on new regularity results for the eikonal equation, in which the velocity is positive but merely measurable in time and with Hölder bounds in space. From this result, we deduce a priori regularity for the front. On the other hand, under this regularity assumption, we prove bounds and regularity estimates for the solution of the heat equation.

Modeling the Transport and Volumetric Properties of Solutions Containing Polymer and Electrolyte with New Model

A new theoretical model based on the local composition concept (TNRF-mNRTL model) was proposed to express the short-range contribution of the excess Gibbs energy for the solutions containing polymer and electrolyte. This contribution of interaction along with the long-range contribution of interaction (Pitzer-Debye-Hückel equation), configurational entropy of mixing (Flory-Huggins relation)...

Thickness Dependent Effective Viscosity of a Polymer Solution near an Interface Probed by a Quartz Crystal Microbalance with Dissipation Method

The solution viscosity near an interface, which affects the solution behavior and the molecular dynamics in the solution, differs from the bulk. This paper measured the effective viscosity of a dilute poly (ethylene glycol) (PEG) solution adjacent to a Au electrode using the quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM-D) technique. We evidenced that the effect of an adsorbed PEG layer can...

Distribution kinetics of polymer crystallization and the Avrami equation.

Cluster distribution kinetics is adopted to explore the kinetics of polymer crystallization. Population balance equations based on crystal size distribution and concentration of amorphous polymer segments are solved numerically and the related dynamic moment equations are also solved. The model accounts for heterogeneous or homogeneous nucleation and crystal growth. Homogeneous nucleation rates...

Detection of Polymer Brushes developed via Single Crystal Growth

Single crystals consisting various surface morphologies and epitaxial structures were applied to investigate the effect of other phase regions in the vicinity of a given tethered chains-covered area having a certain molecular weight of amorphous brushes. The designed experiments demonstrated that regardless of the type of surface morphology (patterned and especial mixed-brushes, homo and co...

Artificial Neural Network Model to Estimate the Viscosity of Polymer Solutions for Enhanced Oil Recovery "2279

Polymer flooding is now considered a technicallyand commercially-proven method for enhanced oil recovery (EOR). The viscosity of the injected polymer solution is the key property for successful polymer flooding. Given that the viscosity of a polymer solution has a non-linear relationship with various influential parameters (molecular weight, degree of hydrolysis, polymer concentration, cation c...
